Building Homes or Extensions/Insulation under cedar

Question
Hi,
I have a very old house (1890) and am residing under the front porch.  I removed the existing cedar shakes, horizontal cedar boards, and am now down to 1x10 planks (sheathing).  I would like to put down 3/4" insulation and than cedar shingles.  However, several manufacturers say that I am not able to do this or they do not have a product.  Can I put down 1/2" insulation, than 1/4" plywood, tyvek, and than the cedar shingles?

Thank you very much for you help,
Debbie

Answer
Debbie,

The very best R value will come with Poyisccanurate.  This material can be purchased already bonded to plywood and nailbase product to assist in ventilation.
