Question
I just bought a as is home that is five years old in Kansas city MO. I put down some ice melt just last week when it was snowing and I see now that I have a bunch of small dime size hole up and down drive way. this is my first winter there what causes this problem was this from the ice melt? And what can I do to fix this?

Answer
Herman, I bet the holes were there and perhaps you'd not noticed them.  Salt does hurt concrete, but not in a single application.  There are concrete sealers to help keep chemicals out of concrete, but once the deterioration has started it is very difficult to stop.  When conditions are better, you might consider a topping cement on the entire drive.
