Building Homes or Extensions/insulation

Question
I had asked you about insulating a ceiling in a room under a front porch.  I have heavy condesation building up on the ceiling when the outdoor temp drops.  I would like to insulated it to prevent this.  The room is not heated and is seperated from my celler by a steel door and block walls.  My question is what kind of vapor barrior do I need, and can I use faced inslation with or without plastic attached to the ceiling. Thanks again Bob

Answer
Im sorry Bob I thought I answered that question.  My point in my last answer is that you need to dry that area out first before insulating.  You can put a vapor barrier up there but it will only trap the moisture but if that's what you want to do by all means go ahead.  As I mentioned before, if you use a faced insulation you need to put the face into the room. I thought you wanted to use this room as a root cellar and root cellars need a certain amount of moisture.  I hope this information helps feel free to write again as needed..
