Building Homes or Extensions/Front Entry

Question
I would like to replace my front door (which is wood paneled w/ side lites) with a double french door (15 lites on each side).  I have looked into ordering this type of door and I have someone to do this.  My question is this; if the door is all wood, are there any building codes I have to consider, i.e., overhang projection, etc.?  Thanks!

Answer
Hi Jo,
There are so many differences from state to state (and city to city) that it would be impossible to answer you with any degree of certainty.
Your builder should know... and if not, a call to your town/city code enforcement officer will take care of it.
Best of luck...
Dave
