Building Homes or Extensions/Stucco vs. Paint on interior wall

Question
Dear Dave,
We are building a house of cement in a temperate zone about two miles from the ocean. Humidity will be high. The interior walls are going to be something called "FG board." We have an idea that applying stucco on the interior walls would be good as a humidity controller. Are there negatives?  Can't hang pictures? Expensive to repair?

Thanks for any advice,
Sal

Answer
Hi Sal,
You answered some of your own question...the repair/picture thing...
Actually, pictures can be hung...and if moved th holes are EASIER to repair due to the textured surface.
In the case of mold/mildew, paint would be easier to re-do. But
controlling the humidity will lessen the chances of that.
Aesthetically, stucco will be more pleasing but a little more costly to apply.
I'm rambling...typing as I think...
I'm in Maine, and am not familiar with the "fg board". Probably different trade name.
Mail me back if you want more "ramblings"
Good luck,
Dave
P.S. Have you looked into the ICF's? (insulated concrete forms)
