Building Homes or Extensions/Concrete Steps

Question
I am pouring a slab in front of my house. I also need 2 steps from the front door. Can you pour both at the same time, if yes, how?

Answer
Melissa, not impossible but sure adds a degree of difficulty.  YOu did not indicate any sizes.  The problem is the need to strip the stair forms while the concrete is still wet enough to finish, but set enough to not fall down or slump.  This involves getting to the stair forms, getting them pulled and finished, and getting the rest of the slab finished at about the same time which will require more finishers.  It is often just better to keep the stairs as a separate pour as they can be a handful all on their own.
