Building Homes or Extensions/Caulking Hardi-Plank

Question
I just finished residing my work shop w/hardi-plank, and all the trim is hardi-plank, do I need to caulk all the trim where it overlaps the hardi-plank? I know to caulk all the trim around windows, doors, ect. I used the 12'x 8" planks, not panels. Thanks for any input.

Answer
Hi Dave,
If you try to caulk there, you'll use a lot of material....
Usually, the trim is applied first, then the siding brought up to it.
Its too late to do that now, so I guess the choice is yours. I do think a neat job could be done if you take your time...and as I said, thats a lot of caulking.
Best of luck,
Dave J
