Question
hello,
I have a 54 years old house, with solid double brick walls, without wood framing. I am trying to build a solarium that will be attached to the brick wall of the house. The front of the solarium will hava a foundation that is 4' deep with 8" sono tube. The side that will be attached to the solid double brick wall I am using a 2"x6" with 12 ft length which one side of solarium roof rafters will be attached to this  board. I am wondering how can I attach this board to the brick wall? Is it ok if I use 5" concrete srews every 1 ft along the board?
I live in Toronto, Canada. Thank you.

Answer
Hi Masoud,
It would probably work if you did that (with one over the other 12" apart)
But I would rather you use a new, sharp masonry bit, drill into the wall and use an anchor (lead or composition) then use a lag bolt.

This should be done with the bolts at 16" intervals and double them.
Best of luck...

Dave
