Building Homes or Extensions/temporary divider wall

Question
Hi there..I'm renting a home and have my 19 yr. old son sleeping in our finished basement. I have hung sheets from the unfinished ceiling, just for some privacy. Any ideas on what I can do to provide a little more privacy and the feeling of an actual wall? The "room" is approximately 14 ft x 11 ft. ANY ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.

Answer
Hi Kerry,
I imagine the ceiling is interrupted by pipes/wires/ducts etc. So that area is a bear to cover...maybe the sheets on the ceiling would be a good idea with spray paint to liven it up a bit.
As for the walls, I would use some "Japanese" screens, I'm sure you've seen them... they are about 6' high and fold... that would be much cheaper than building an actual wall, and you'd be able to take them with you when moving. anything else I can think of would have to be attached and probably left there.
Best of luck,

Dave
