Building Homes or Extensions/extending slab

Question
Hello, I am looking for advice on extending an existing shed slab.  We currently have a storage shed measuring
12' x 16', that we would like to expand to 24' x 16'. Is it practical to try to expand the foundation/slab, or more cost effective to simply rip out the existing and repour. If it is possible to "add on" to the existing slab, I would appreciate your thoughts on this.  Thanks

Answer
John, there is no reason to abandon what you have.  You mention foundation which would be unusual on a storage shed, but if so, make sure you duplicate the condition on the new.  A big problem can be differentail settling.  Dowel into the side of the existing slab to keep the two slabs at the same elevation.
