Building Homes or Extensions/matching floor heights with joist hangers

Question
hello Dave,
I am building an extension to the house and about to pour strip foundations. After this i will build a double block wall to damp course level (filled with concrete). I need to match the new floor level to the existing floor. The new floor will be done using joist hangers and timber joists. Does the final height have to be exact to match, or can i fine tune the levels with the joist hangers ?

Answer
hi Pete,
yes, there is some adjustment when putting on the hangers. but, if
i understand you correctly, you will need to have the top of the
foundation pretty close, so that the joists resting there won't have to be shimmed. keep in mind that you'll probably be using a sill on top of the blocks. i hope this is clear enough, if not mail me back with more questions.
best of luck,
Dave
