Building Homes or Extensions/skirting

Question
I have recently purchased a pier and beam home.  It currently has mobile home underpinning at that base of the house.  I am looking for a product that is hardier.  I have heard about some type of product called hardy plank, but I know nothing about it.  Can you give me any insight - costs, instillation, where I might find it?

Answer
Hi Lisa,
Hardy plank is a siding material (cement). Very durable stuff, hard to apply for some people. Manufacturer recommends nailing at the top to avoid exposure of nails. The problem: "fishmouth" at the butt
of the siding if not appplied properly.
Any materials supplier will have it, along with instructions... Best of luck, and if you need more, mail me...
