Building Homes or Extensions/French Doors

Question
I am cutting out a window in concrete (48 in wide). Is it possible to put in french doors. Do they have to be special made? If so, what would be the frame out dismissions? Or would I be better off installing something else? It will be going from inside to outside under a porch.
                             Thank you, Kevin

Answer
Hi Kevin,
If you are going to have only a 48" opening, the door will have to be custom made. and, if you're talking about real french (double) doors, they will be very narrow. On the other hand, that opening would give you room enough for a 36" wide door, with room to spare. The rough opening for a 36" x 80" door is 38" x 83".

I hope I have helped, if not please mail me again,,,
