Building Homes or Extensions/Garage attic storage space

Question
Hello,
I'm looking to convert my garage attic into usable storage space. I have common roof trusses with 2x6 top chords 2x4 bottom chords, 4/12 pitch, 20" oc spanning 21 ft. I'm wondering if the bottom chords on these trusses will be strong enough to support some kind of sub floor and have enough load bearing capacity for light storage. Any help would be much appreciated!

Answer
Hi Jon,
"Light" storage is the key here...
The manufacturer will say NO to this question, but the trusses are always over-engineered. So, use light weight sheathing, and if there is any chance you'll be storing anything heavy, add to the existing webbing.Best of luck,

Dave
