Building Homes or Extensions/Truss construction

Question
Can I span 18 feet with 2 by 6 truss laminated with 1/2 inch plywood, same for top of truss (rafter boards) without having the vertical and angle braces (from bottom 2 by 6's to top rafters).  Length of room is 22 feet.  Open ceiling.
Thanks!

Answer
Curtis, are you asking me if you can have a simple triangle with no intermediate truss bracing?  Simple answer - NO.  It is the interaction between the top and bottom chords that  give a truss its ability to funciton..  A one piece ceiling joist capable of spanning 22 feet with no attic weight and no ceiling weight would be larger than a 2x6, I think it will sag out over time substantially.
