A friend of mine needs to fill in her basement and raise her house about 3 feet- there was a problem with flooding.
She lives in Orange County NY.  How would I locate the appropriate person to do this type of work and what credentials should I look for?

Hi Jane, look up house moving companies on line.  There are some very professional movers in NY that travel most of the state and can do a seamless lift and your friend can be sitting high and dry in no time.  She will still need to hire a concrete or masonry contractor to do the new foundation work and have her plumbing.  The movers leave the lifting beams under the house until  the foundation is done and then set the house back down.  I hope this information helps feel free to write again regarding this or other matters, sincerely bruce e johnson..bejohnsonconsulting.com
