Building Homes or Extensions/breezeway

Question
My house sits at an elevation about 4ft higher than my garage.  Do you have any idea's on how to connect them with a breezway with-out going with 10 ft walls on the new garage and 9ft walls on the breezeway?  I'm haveing a heck of a time trying to plan this and every time I think I have it worked the door header comes up short!  It's an 8 pitch roof.

Answer
Chris,

Without seeing the actual configuration of your buildings I can't correctly visualize what we are dealing with.  I need photos and additional information such as the distance between the two buildings, which way the roofs pitch, etc.
