Question I have a stand alone room that I would like to attach to the back door of my mobile home. My mobile home is set on blocks about 3 feet off the ground and the addition will be slightly raised off the ground. What products should be used to seal the two together?
Answer Hi Crystal, if you are talking about weatherproofing the connection then it is not too difficult for the wall seams. Once the room is screwed or bolted to the mobile home you can caulk the joint with urethane caulking. Depending on the thickness of the joint you may need to stuff backing rod into the seam first so that you don't need as much caulking. For the roof it depends on how the two buildings line up. YOu may need to flash over the roof seam and then seal it with peel and stick roof flashing and then cover it with roofing material and mastic. I hope this information helps please feel free to write again regarding this or other matters, sincerely bruce e johnson..bejohnsonconsulting.com
