Hello Dave
I Have 4x4 and 6x6 ceader post cut from my property most red and all the 2x6 Oak band and joist and 1" oak floor planks and also have the 2x4 RaFter and band for angel roof this will be stand alone porch my Question is for The Main Post would 4 4x4 be sufficient to use at 8 foot apart front and back the porch will be 24 foot long and 10 foot out. The roof cover will be light gage Barn Tin

Hi Jim,
The posts are big enough, but I'd like to see them at 6' spacing. I realize this means you need more posts, but it will be safer.
Is the roof a single (shed) pitch? or a gable type?
Do you live in the south? (no snow load)
