Building Homes or Extensions/Creating new window openings in foundation wall

Question
We are creating 4 new openings in our foundation wall for the installation of new windows to add light to our soon-to-be finished basement. The concrete foundation wall thickness is 10". On the inside, we'll be adding 2x3 framing, so the total wall thickness will be 13". How thick should the window frames be? We've had quotes from various window manufacturers, and the required frame thickness is quoted as ranging from 7.5" to 11". Which is right?
Thanks!
David

Answer
Hi David,
It really doesn't make much difference, you're going to be using an "extension jamb" anyway to extend from the new frame to the interior of the new finished wall to accept your trim.

Best of luck, and if this is not clear, please ask more...
