Building Homes or Extensions/Possible code violation

Question
Hi, I live in Pennsylvania and I was wondering if in an apartment building if they don't have heater covers on the heaters that run along the base of the wall and expose us to the heat it produces to the point that if something is against it will heat it up to where you can't touch it, does it deem the apartment "unliveable"? or is it a fire code violation?

Answer
Hi megan, it's easy enough to find out.  Call your fire department or building department and request an inspection.  They will come out and look at the apartment building and contact the owner with a code violation if it applies. I hope this information helps, please feel free to write again regarding this or other matters, sincerely bruce e johnson..bejohnsonconsulting.com
