Building Homes or Extensions/building

Question
I have a house that sits in high water table area with sandy loam. The basement is 8 feet down. We have had problems for 3 years. They put in ditches but trying to decide the most cost effective measures. We can build a new house, rebuild basement, pour another foundation and move house onto it. The water source heat pump furnace and water heaters are down in the basement now. If we build a new house what needs to be done beside no basement to ensure in does not sink or shift. Should we fix the house the best that we can and try and sell it for what we can. The house has two more years before being paid off. We have been living a nightmare for three years and would like to move on with our lives. Thank you!

Answer
Hi Brenda, what kind of problems are you having?  If it's water getting into the basement, this can be fixed.  If it has settling and shifting problems? Then that is a structural problem and other steps need to be taken..Please write back for more info..thanks..sincerely bruce e johnson
