Question
Hi Bruce, I have a 1999 manufactured home (double wide) permanently attached to a full basement.  I would like to add on a four seasons room to the back of the house.  Will my home structally be able to handle the addition?  What issues should I be concerned with?

Answer
Hi angela, when adding on to any building you generally make the foundation and structure of the new addition self supporting.  So really your addition will support itself and put little structural strain on the existing manufactured home.  You may tie in the roof or where the walls intersect but this is just to keep the elements out, the main support will be in the new stuff.   I hope this information helps feel free to write again regarding this or other matters, sincerely bruce e johnson..bejohnsonconsulting.com
