Question
I live in the high desert in southern ca. ( victorville area) I was wondering if I can use concrete block in such a dry climate?, 110 degrees in summer to 30-60 in winter with very little rainfall and some lite snow. When it does snow it is usually 1-2 inches and is usually gone in one day.

Answer
hi again lee, I love concrete block for desert climates.  I recommend using a foam block fill insulation once the masonry is complete.  This is an injected polymer foam that fills the hollow cells of the block and provides great insulation.  I hope this information helps feel free to write again regarding this or other matters, sincerely bruce e johnson..bejohnsonconsulting.com
