Question
I was in my father inlaws attic checking to see why the roof had soft spots on it when I had to clean the gutters. i found some broken braces and supports.
my question is, I seen some orange cristal looking glitter on 10 - 20 foot of one of the rafters and braces. Would you know what it is. Thanks Guy.
Hi Guy, without actually seeing the stuff I will have to guess but it sounds like a wood fungus. This may be a wood destroying organism and will need to be treated or it will eventually eat the wood. Call a local pest control expert and have them look at it. There are treatments available such as Timbor that will kill it and prevent it from coming back.
