Question
I am considering adding a walkin closet to the second story of my house.  it would cover a portion of my patio where there are no supports.  i would need to knock out an exterior wall of my home and add columns for support.  I'm not sure who to contact for more information in Riverside, Ca.  can you help?

Hi Ian, I am not at all familiar with particular contractors in your area, however, by going to the phone book yellow pages you can try to get some general contractors out to look at what you want to do.  Look for those that specialize in building additions.  Don't be afraid to talk to as many that will show up so that you get a good overall idea of the costs and the procedures involved.  There will need to be some engineering and some drawings needed for the local building permits so try to find a full service contractor that can handle the permitting, design and construction for you.  I hope this information helps feel free to write again regarding this or other matters, sincerely bruce e johnson..bejohnsonconsulting.com
