Question
Building a new home and I am considering doing a Wood Basement.  Any Pros and Cons of doing a wood basement over poured concrete?  Thanks

Answer
Hi Nathan,
I tried the p.t. wood basements years ago, as did a lot of the builders in this area.
We all did one and swore never to try again, they just aren't
going to hold up as they should.
I'm guessing you want to do this to either insulate or to do it yourself, or both.
If that is the case, please consider ICF's.
(insulated concrete forms) They are the ultimate in foundations.
I have personally used them in many homes for both foundations AND the rest of the home as well.
Great results.
R-36 walls! unheard of in any other found. wall.
I like  www.nudura.com they are longer, higher and stronger.
Best of luck, and if you need more, please mail me again.
