Question
we are adding on to an existing house. we are not sure on code for the crawl space. what depth is freeze level? and what depth under freeze level do we need to be?

Answer
Hi matthew, it depends on where you live..If the frost line is three feet then the top of your foundation footing needs to be below that.  Most crawl space requirements are at least 24" from the ground to the bottom of the floor joists..I hope this information helps, feel free to write again regarding this or other matters, sincerely, bruce e johnson..bejohnsonconsulting.com
