Building Homes or Extensions/Replace bottom rotted wooden panel garage door row

Question
Greetings,

As must be common, the bottom row of my panel wooden garage door is rotted. Very basic door - 4 vertical rows (windows in 3rd row up), 4 panels across. I haven't been able to locate anyone who sells a row plus the stiles (?), wooden strip to hold the panels in.

Any suggestions?
THanks

Answer
Hi Howard, yeah, finding replacement panels for old garage doors is pretty much impossible.  If you have exhausted all of the roll-up door  companies on line and in your yellow pages, you will either need to make your own panel or replace the entire door with a new assembly.  Building a panel door isn't that difficult if you know how to use a router. It is built similar to a cabinet door.  You might check with some local wood workers or guys that build house doors or cabinet doors.  I know they can probably make a special order panel for you.  The draw back to that is that it will cost more than buying an entire new door.  I hope this information helps feel free to write again regarding this or other matters, sincerely bruce e johnson..bejohnsonconsulting.com
