Building Homes or Extensions/cost of fence

Question
I was just wondering what would be the cost to put up a fence on my property line. I would like to make it out of 4x4 posts and 2x4 slats. We would be doing it ourselves, so no labor costs would be involved. I have about 1 and 3/4 acres and I only want to run it down the right side of my property to separate us from the new neighbors. Basically a spite fence. Your input is appreciated.

Answer
Hi Kelly, basically a pressure treated wood fence of most types six feet tall will cost 5-10 dollars a lineal foot.  You might be able to do it cheaper pending a very simple design but I think you will find the cost I mention to pretty much cover a do-it-yourself fence. Home Depot has 8' panels for 45 bucks or you can buy the individual slats and make your own panels.  The thing to do is draw up your plan, figure your materials and then see how much they cost. I hope this information helps feel free to write again regarding this or other matters, sincerely bruce e johnson..bejohnsonconsulting.com
