Question
I'm planning to extend my Concrete Patio.
I've figured an Area about 300 SF. To pour 4" thick I figured I will need abot 3.8 Yards of Concrete. I'm planning to mix the Cement, sand and the aggregate myself but I'm not sure what ratio to mix Sand Aggregate and Cement. Can you herlp me with that?
Thanks
Myzi

Answer
Hi Myzi, a simple mix is 1 portland cement, 2 sand, 4 aggregate..However I prefer a 1 cement, 2 sand and 3 aggregate for a more workable, stronger mix.  You can experiment with the aggregate and see what works best for you but either of the above will work.  If you get a premixed aggregate/ sand then 1 cement and 5 or 6 of the premixed aggregate/sand combination is the formula. I hope this information helps feel free to write again regarding this or other matters, sincerely bruce e johnson..bejohnsonconsulting.com
