Question
I live in East Durham, N.Y.. I'm looking to put a slab under my 14x70 mobile home to stop the shifting.Originally I was going to put in footings and use blocks to do the job but the owner of the park didn't want that. A friend told me that a slab could be put under my pre-existing structure. How would this be done and what kind of cost range am I looking at?

Answer
Hi Ronald, the easiest way to do it is to pull the mobile off the property, form and pour a new slab and then move the mobile back onto the slab.  Otherwise you will need to try and pour concrete underneath the mobile in place which can be done but will require getting under there and clearing the ground of grass, debris etc.  putting down a vapor barrier and then forming and pouring a slab around your existing pilasters..I hope this information helps feel free to write again regarding this or other matters, sincerely bruce e johnson..bejohnsonconsulting.com
