Question
i have a very large attic and need  an extra bed room  what do i need to know

Answer
hi darla,
Assuming you already have stairs, we'll start with framing.
Frame with 2"x4" for the walls and 2"x6" for the ceiling.
Do your rough electrical next.
Hopefully there is a wall where you can get a window (or windows)
installed. A skylight could even be used.
Insulate the walls with 3 1/2"fiberglass and use 1/2" foil faced foam as well. The ceiling should be insulated with at least 12" of cellulose (blown-in)
The area above your new ceiling should be vented to the exterior of the house; eave vents, soffit vents, gable vents or even a roof installed turbine.
Make sure the floor sheathing is good enough for the flooring you choose.
Drywall all walls and ceiling, tape and paint.
install doors, door trim, window trim and baseboard.
Install flooring.

Best of luck, and if this sin't what you were looking for, please me again...
