Question
I have an aluminum awning that is too expensive to replace. So, I cleaned it the best I could and noticed its missing/losing the caulking that is in the seems.  How can we recaulk it if we are unable to stand on it. Won't it collapse if we stand on it? And is there something specific we should be using to caulk this with.

OR is there a specific contractor we can contact to advise us on this or a website we can learn about this from.

Hi Tammy,
If you know the brand name, they may have a site on-line, otherwise do the following: Re apply a silicone or silicone/acrylic caulking on the seams. You can find it in colors or clear at your bldg mat'ls suppliere.
If you cleaned it,couldn't you access the panels the same way? A stepladder? a window above? Its hard to give good ways without knowing how large or how high this thing is... mail me back with more info if you want.
