Building Homes or Extensions/Deck Enclosure

Question
We are thinking about enclosing our deck, making it a screened deck (using a contractor).
We have a 12 x 16 deck, but we need a roof.
What would you suggest to someone that wants a screened deck but may want to keep out bad weather also.
Would it be better to have all the area with screened doors so we can close them in bad weather?
Or do you have any other ideas. Don't want to make a fully 4 season room, just one step better than a screened room.

Answer
Hi Phil, most screen manufacturers also make vinyl windows.  They are like sliding glass doors in their own tracks.  They can be taken out and stored or slid open like sliding glass doors.  I had this system on my last house.  It made for a nice cozy room in inclement weather but allowed me to use the screen room in nice weather. I hope this information helps feel free to write again regarding this or other matters, sincerely bruce e johnson..bejohnsonconsulting.com
