Building Homes or Extensions/Room Addition

Question
Roughly, how much would it cost to turn a screened in porch (w/ light/fan) into
an extra room (big enough to fit a pool table)?

Answer
Hi Laura, it depends on a lot of things but a basic enclosure of an existing roof and slab should run somewhere around 30-40 dollars a square foot.  This would cover basic stud framing, simple t-111 exterior siding and 1/2" drywall on the interior walls, cheap windows and a prehung door with basic hardware. The best thing to do is write down a material list, window sizes, door sizes and framing materials.  Or you can take a simple floor plan with wall measurements to Home Depot and let them figure out what you need.  I hope this information helps feel free to write again regarding this or other matters, sincerely bruce e johnson
