Building Homes or Extensions/building a tack room

Question
Hi,

I'm trying to build a tack room in our horse barn.  There is a corner where there is a cement slab, I've read about framing and understand some of the basics, what I can't figure out is how to attach the framed walls to the cememnt floor.

Thank you for your time, I appreciate it,

Kathryn

Answer
Hi Kathryn,
The easiest way would be to use a good construction adhesive under the bottom plate, and also use some "cement nails" through the plate.
You'll find that the nails are hard to drive in and may even break, as they are brittle. With the brittle thing in mind, be careful about
eye injury!
When you build your walls, be sure and make the studs tight to both the top and bottom plates, thus giving a good bond with the adhesive...

Best of luck, and if you need more, please mail me again.
