we had a new roof with ice dam guard on a previously leaking roof d/t not nailed sky lite flashing and ice dams. roof is lowest slope allowed. gutters removed. new kils  painted in Br with frequently used whirlpool tub. small amt staining noted during the winter,  near outside edge, also in bedroom with no skylite but that stain looks like its along 1 wood support.no increase since heavy spring rain.insulation looks fine. Should I wait 1 more winter or. try to put more insulation over stained areas (nasty job crawl on belly over fiberglass and spiders) any advice?

If the insulation looks good, I'm thinking that the problem is condensation. If the bath is located next to the bedroom, it could still be condensation.

Are you using the exhaust fan when the whirlpool is being used? Best method is the start the fan before using the tub and continue for 15-20 min. after.

More insulation is always good, but I would suggest blowing in cellulose. That would be more thorough, easier and less crawling around. It can be done by you or a handyman, most places that sell cellulose have a blower for free or for rent.

Next time the problem occurs, go into the insulated area and feel UNDER the insulation, that will tell you if its bath condensation. And, in the winter, look up into the attic and see if there is frost on any exposed nails coming through the roof sheathing.
