Question

3 story living room an
I wanted to know how I could hang 4x8 douglas fir joists. I have a loft apartment with huge 3 story living room with poured slab catwalk.  It is a townhome and some of the other units came with an additional bedroom above the living room instead of having a 3 story living room. The walls are cement block and I would be attaching to the 3rd floor cement slab catwalk on one side.  I wanted to have exposed wood ceiling to retain loft look and use 4x8 beams every 4' on center.

Hi John you can do it a couple of ways.  You can hang a ledger board to the concrete using concrete anchors and then attach joist hangers to the ledger board.  Or you can tapcon the joist hangers directly to the concrete..
