Building Homes or Extensions/Hardy plank repair

Question
I have a friend who lives on a golf course and his hardy plank-cement board siding  has  a few dents in it from golf balls.  Is there any way to fill these dents with some sort of compound  and repaint them ?

Answer
Biff, I've not ever had dents in Hardie material.  I have used caulk in holes and joints.  I don't find any information at the Hardie website.  I would use Bondo if I were doing the repair.

As with all repairs, the trick is to keep a patch from looking like a patch, so the surface finish and texture become critical before painting.  Make sure it looks right before priming and painting.
