Building Homes or Extensions/frame homes

Question
You have been so instrumental in my decisions in regards to frame homes.  I just would like to know why people bother then to buy homes and move them to another location if there is going to be a lot of walls cracking which consequently would  end up with so much money put into the homes?  Under what circumstances is it a good idea to do this?  I have watched the HGTV show Haul It and seen that it is so much trouble that it causes.  Why then move a house when is it worth it?

Answer
Hi Esther,
Usually the only time it really makes sense to move a home is when some person or business needs to be rid of an existing place and will charge NOTHING for it. Then if the move is fairly close,
the property is inexpensive(or already owned), the foundation cost is realistic and some repairs are able to be done by the new owner you may have a viable project.

Also, as I said before, one needs to know all the costs up front as well as the projected value
when completed to determine whether or not to proceed.
