Question
We want to buy this home that is a frame house, but would appreciate your advice. It is 1300 sq. ft. and the mover says that that's what they've been doing for years.  He says that the walls will crack, but that it only costs about $200 to repair them.  It is traveling about 50 miles to the destination.  What can you advise on this house?  Any advice asap would be more than appreciated as the house will soon be for sale.

Answer
Hi Esther,
The house can be moved, and there WILL be some drywall/plaster cracks. I can't imagine it costing only $200 to repair the damages, there will be quite a few to deal with.
Make sure the cost of moving is a contracted price! Get it in writing! No add-ons! such as escort vehicles, road blocks, power line problems and the like.
Is there a foundation ready to accept the house? Is the cost of foundation/moving/house cost all worth the eventual house value?
