Building Homes or Extensions/Choosing a Gift for a Job Well Done

Question
Hi Mr. Johnson,
Our Foreman did an amazing job on our home, and in addition, he's such a nice, nice guy.  We wanted to give him a little something for all his work and kindness.

My husband said 'maybe a gift card to Home Depot', but I'm not so sure.  I figure that's like giving a librarian her own library card, you know what I mean?  But hey, who knows, I could be wrong.

With your expertise in this line of work, might you have any suggestions for us?  Thanks!

Answer
Hi Karen,
Good for you!! So many times a good job is ignored and the guy doing shoddy work gets exposure...
If you just tell him in a note/letter what you've told me, let him know how thankful you are and
tell him he can call on you for references anytime, he'll be very appreciative.
And, if you feel something monetary is better, ANY builder would like gift cards for more hardware!
