Question
I am planning on lifting my house, it is 24ft x 28ft I currently have 3 jack post in the basement, I would like to eliminate all the jack post by putting in I beams, what is the size I would need to cover the 28ft span.. 10W 35lbs? all help is appreciated

Answer
Luc, you will need to calculate all loads on the girder.  The loads are subject to roof type and all wall, joist, and rafter loads (trusses do not bear on the center wall).  It sounds like you are in about the right size range, but this will require a structural engineer's stamp.
