east wing third floor.
this is a interior photo of the east wing third floor room. Didnt remember if I sent this before. You can see the off centered wall to the left that is solid brick from the first floor up to the ceiling height of this floor.

Hi james, cool..Yeah I don't see any problems with just tearing out the joists and removing the wall as long as this wall is not an integral part of the roof system.  But if the wall is only supporting the floor systems then as you take down the floors you can take the wall down.  I hope  this information helps please feel free to write again sincerely bruce e johnson..bejohnsonconsulting.com
