Building Homes or Extensions/angle irons, french doors

Question
We had replacement french doors (and a window and the fitter should have fitted a lintol prior to fitting the doors.  They didn't and now the bricks above are sagging. Is it possible to now fit an angle iron without removing the doors (and window) and will this show on the outside?  They have quoted £300.00 to do this as well as fit one above the kitchen window also - is this reasonable?

Answer
Sally,

Retrospecive lintelling (angle iron ) can be done, although the job in my opinion never gets done properly with the door/ window in place. Can you confirm if the replacements are wider than original, also which type of lintel was there before the replacement.
I cant fully answer your question until i have more information,
Check your contractors statement of contract terms which would be agreed at pricing before the work commenced

regards
Bill
