Question
I am building a garage and I am using roof trusses. The garage door will be an 18' opening on the gable end. Do I need a laminated beam header, do I need a header at all. The wall holds no weight because I will be using trusses.
Hi Jeff, I would definitely recommend a beam. You will need a beam if you ever want to install a garage door opener or garage doors period.
