Question
what is a low bearing wall

Answer
Hi clive, you are probably referring to a "load" bearing wall.  The load bearing walls are the ones that support the structure above such as floor joists and roof systems. Some interior walls do not support anything above and are used just to separate one room from another with no structural purpose.  These walls are "non-load bearing". I hope this information helps, please feel free to write again regarding this or other matters, sincerely bruce e johnson..bejohnsonconsulting.com
