Building Homes or Extensions/Addition to Garage

Question
Thinking of adding a small addition to my garage. A basic shed roof on the back opposite the door side. Because of location pouring a full footer and slab would be difficult without pumping over the garage. What is your opinion on pier footings? Then build a deck to rest on them from treated wood? Dimensions i am considering- 10'x12'shed, 8"dia piers flared to 16" on bottom 36" deep, am in Ohio. Space piers no more than 5' apart? Basically 2 6'x5'decks mounted together and tied to piers with galv. connectors. The shed will hold mowers and tools, nothing super heavy. Let me know your thoughts on this and certainly any recommendations.

Answer
Hi Lee, your ideas work for me.  Just make sure your wood is all pressure treated and you should be good to go.   I hope this information helps, please feel free to write again regarding this or other matters, sincerely bruce e johnson..bejohnsonconsulting.com
