Question
Hi,  I have a new home, but tend to get a lot of condensation on the inside of my windows.  I've even noticed what looks like mold on the bottom handle of the window.  Is this normal that this can happen?...or was it done wrong?  Thanks a lot!!

Answer
Hi Lauren, it sounds more like a humidity control problem with your air conditioning/heating system. If you are running your A/C a lot and keeping the interior of the home extra cool you will notice condensation on your windows.  Do you keep your air filters changed?  A poor air circulation could cause this similar problem.  I would suggest an air conditioning specialist take a look at your problem.  He can check the humidity levels inside the home, your fresh air makeup if any and make suggestions.  You didn't mention what area you live in and whether or not you have heat/cold extremes in your climate but the HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning)is important for controling humidity. I hope this information helps, please feel free to write again regarding this or other matters, sincerely bruce e johnson..bejohnsonconsulting.com
